Remember a couple months ago we shared with you guys a really cool raffle one of our founding bloggers, Crystal, had organized?  It was called Crystal’s Charity Lacquers and a bunch of brands had donated exclusive polishes to be used as prizes to be won if people donated to one of the charities listed.  Well, as it happens, I donated every chance I could and ended up winning a few polishes from the raffles.  One of the prizes I won was my very first Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquers.

Practice Safe Sun

Practice Safe Sun 1

Practice Safe Sun was one of the prizes for donating to the Terry Fox Run where all proceeds would go to cancer research.  Practice Safe Sun is a red-leaning coral polish with a gold microshimmer.

Practice Safe Sun 3

I have heard so much about this brand and I’m not sure what prevented me from trying them before, but I can promise these won’t be my last.  I needed two coats for opacity.  The formula was a touch towards the thick side but it did not affect application.  It felt nice and creamy.

Practice Safe Sun 2

I love the subtleness of the golden shimmer in there.  Practice Safe Sun is the perfect summer pedi colour and I expect it will be a ton of use next summer.

Sepulcher by the Sea

Spulcher by the Sea 4

Sepulcher by the Sea is the polish from October’s Addicted to Holos Box.  This was also included in the prize, though it isn’t a very limited edition like Practice Safe Sun is. It’s a teal jellyish holo with gold glass flecks. I think there’s some pink in there too.

 Spulcher by the Sea 3

I LOVED the formula of this polish.  It was a surprise jelly polish and it had that squishy feeling while still looking somewhat like a creamy holo.  I have no idea how the maker did that!

Spulcher by the Sea 2

I only needed two coats for the opacity you see here.

Overall, I am impressed with this brand.  Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer is definitely a brand that I plan to take a closer look at moving forward.  I am pretty excited to own both of these in my collection.

You can take a look at what this brand has to offer in her Big Cartel store here.

If you’re interested, Crystal is still running her fundraising efforts over at her Facebook page where exclusive polishes are being released monthly.  You can stay tuned here for more releases based on this model soon.

What do you think of these polish?  Which do you prefer?
