I am a child of the 90s. Actually, I am a teen of the 90s, which is even cooler (*ahem* in my opinion *ahem*). And not only that, but I was one of the goth teenagers – long hair dyed white with a black streak, black lipstick, baby powder mixed with my foundation to make me even paler, dog chain around my neck, combat boots…..you get the idea. For those that know me now, it’s difficult to picture me like that (I wish I had a photo to show you), but I was the quintessential 90s kid. As such, one of my favourite movies ever was The Craft. I had the movie poster on my wall and longed to be like Neve Campbell. When Lara contacted me about reviewing this collection based on that movie, I jumped at the chance.
Witchy Weirdos is a six polish collection – a whites shimmer satin/matte, a black waxy matte, and four glitter toppers.
The Heart of the Witch
The Heart of the Witch is a shimmery white satin matte polish. I needed three thin coats to cover my free edge, which is fantastic given it’s white and how long my nails are.
This polish is really unique. On it’s own, I really liked the finish. It reminded me of the OPI satin finish polishes (like L.A.M.B.), which I also loved. This is a must have polish from this brand.
Ours is the Power
Ours is the Power is a glitter topper that is aqua and blue square and hexes of multiple sizes in a clear base. I used one coat dabbed on over The Heart of the Witch.
Light as a Feather
Light as a Feather is a glitter topper of red, orange, and gold multi shaped and sized glitters in a clear base. This was my favourite of the four glitter toppers and is perfect for fall. I dabbed on one coat over The Heart of the Witch.
I Drink of My Sisters
I Drink of My Sisters is a green and brown glitter topper that has different sized hexes and circles in a clear base. I dabbed one coat over The Heart of the Witch.
Make Them See
Make Them See is a purple, white, and burgundy glitter topper in a clear base. This was a close runner up for my favourite of the toppers as the colour combination is so unique. I dabbed on one coat over The Heart of the Witch.
Hail to the Guardians
Hail to the Guardians is a black waxy matte polish. I used three coats for opacity and no top coat.
I really like the finish of this polish. It reminds me of the Wax That topcoat from Cult Nails a few years ago, which I was a huge fan of.
Overall, I am really liking this collection. Lara really knows her niche and her polish reflect their inspiration perfectly. I can’t wait to show you the next collection she sent me for review!
