Melissa added me to the amazing custom group on Facebook: Hella Holo Customs. You may recall her Cupcake polish post a few weeks ago that had me completely sad that I missed out on Second Cakeaversary. I snatched up two of the July polishes from Fair Maiden. I loved the Fair Maiden neon collection that I reviewed earlier this summer so I knew these polishes wouldn’t disappoint. And they didn’t!
First up from me is the shimmery holo pink shade, Lokelani. Each of the July polishes were given Hawaiian themed names. Lokelani is a small fragrant pink or red rose common in Hawaii. So it’s a perfectly named polish IMO!
Lokelani was absolute perfection for application. The photos below show one coat of polish plus top coat. Photos were taken in direct sun -and just look at the scattered holo. Hella holo indeed. I am so in love with this polish!
The green was a surprise release in Hella Holo, released near the end of the month. As soon as I saw swatched I added it to my order – how could I not? This one is called Lanikai Sunrise, named for the spectacular sunrises at Lanikai beach. I’ve never been to Hawaii, but if I go I guess I will have to wear this amazing polish and head to Lanikai beach to watch the sunrise 😉
This was another one coater, photos in direct sun with top coat.
Aloha Nights is a blue-based purple – a blurple if you will. I am completely in love with the colour and formula (another one coater) but these types of colours just do not want to play fair when it comes to photography!! My photos look more blue than the almost-grape colour I was seeing with the naked eye. I played with my camera settings but nothing was making it look right. I wish someone would create a ‘blurple’ filter for cameras.
I used all three of these together to do a water marble that I love!
Which of the three is your favourite? Head on over to Hella Holo Customs to check out September’s
