I love pink polishes. I love OPI. I love creme polishes. I love witty polish names. It stands to reason that OPI’s Elephantastic Pink could easily become one of my top favourite polishes. Based on colour alone, it could.
I stumbled across this polish in a tiny, family-owned drug store in Truro, NS while there on vacation this summer to see family. Our own lovely Lauren had mentioned this polish so often that when I saw it, I knew I had to have it (along with a bottle for her). It’s not a ‘hard to find’ OPI, per se, but it’s not super easy to find either.
The colour is amazing and so is the application. I did three thin coats but could have gotten away with two. It’s exactly what I was looking for. A nice summery pink. Not too bright, not too bubblegum-ish – just perfect. There was no light that the polish looked bad in. What the pictures don’t show is that even with three coats, I still have some visible nail line when indoors. Once out in natural light or sunlight, you can’t see it, but inside it’s pretty noticeable.
I was so disappointed that it chipped after one evening’s wear. I thought it might just be me, but the second day of wear destroyed the manicure. Now, to be fair, I was travelling and probably rougher on my hands than I normally would be.
The verdict on this polish is not in just yet. The colour and application were great but the wear was less than I am used to with OPI.
