Colors by Llarowe recently released a HUGE summer collection.  There were 30+ polishes of all different colours and finishes.  I watched the swatches being released to try to narrow it down to just a few MUST HAVES for my collection.  These are two of my choices.

Smokin’ in the Boys’ Room is a grey crelly polish.  I would consider the formula very similar to the Essie Summer Neon collection – I needed to use a much heavier hand and thicker coats than I am used to.  Once I realized this, the rest of the application process was smooth sailing.  The polish dried to a semi-matte finish, but I prefer a high shine, so I used a coat of Seche Vite.  The colour in my mind is a concrete grey with some blueish undertones.  Actually, I think it’s almost exactly like Essie’s Cashmere Bathrobe without the shimmer.  It’s a nice staple to have in my collection.  Worth noting, though, is that it dries about two shades darker than the bottle.

Anyone who follows the blog would know that I am not a huge glitter fan.  However, when I saw swatches for Beautiful Disaster I actually gasped out loud and quickly added it to my list.  And, boy, am I glad that I did!  It’s gorgeous.  It’s a purple glitter mixed in with holographic glitter.  The first coat was kind of unimpressive, but adding a second and third coat is where the wow factor came in. I added this as an accent finger but didn’t use the grey as a base.  Not a usual colour combination, but it really worked.  This polish really shined outside in direct sunlight.  It was like rainbows shooting out of my fingertips.
