If I am being completely honest, I’m not at all sure what to say about this polish. I found it to be an indescribable colour and an indescribable finish. Maybe it’s just so far out of my comfort zone that I can’t accurately describe it. I’ll start by trying the colour. It’s purple-ish. Maybe a silvery purple? The first coat was almost colourless but by three coats it was distinctly purple-leaning. There’s some purple and silver microshimmer in there too. Depending on some angles light hitting the nail, there seems to be a faint green shift in colour.
Which leads me to the finish. Is it a shimmer? A sheer? Foil? Multichrome? Maybe all four? There is definitely shimmer in this polish and it becomes more and more evident with each coat. It’s also very foil-like, except unlike a traditional foil you cannot see brushstrokes. It also took three semi-thick coats to get opacity. And, as I mentioned previously, in some lights and at some angles you can see a shift from the silvery purple to a greenish gold. See what I mean by hard to describe?
While I think I can say that I am not a fan of this polish’s colour or finish, I do think it’s unfortunate since the swatches are very flattering on my skin tone. After taking some pictures without a top coat, I added a coat of Cult Nail’s Wax That to see if that would change my feelings. It didn’t. If anything, this is the first polish I’ve ever worn that the Wax That top coat didn’t seem to change it at all.
